The husband of Sri lived happily in his own city, in Dvaraka, which was rich in wealth of every kind and frequented by the bulls of the Vrsnis; and by women in the finest dress, with the loveliness of new youth, playing with balls and the like on the terraces, bright as lightning; whose roads were always crowded with rutting elephants running with their must, with well-adorned soldiers, with horses and with chariots blazing with gold; rich in parks and pleasure-groves, sounding on every side with bees and birds settling in the rows of flowering trees. There he took his pleasure, the one beloved of sixteen thousand wives, taking that many strange forms, in their houses of great wealth.
