1Having brought about the killing of the Daityas, Krsna, with Rama beside him and the Yadus about him, took down the burden of the earth, setting going a quarrel that ran very fast. 2The sons of Pandu had been angered again and again by their rivals, by the crooked dice, the insult, the seizing of hair and the rest. The Lord made them his occasion, brought the kings together against one another, killed them, and so carried off the earth's load. 3Having driven out the royal armies that were the earth's burden, using the Yadus, who were guarded by his own arms, he who cannot be measured thought: the load of the earth is gone, and yet I think it is not gone, for the Yadu family itself stands here, and there is no bearing it.
4No overthrow of this family could ever come from outside, for it shelters in me and its power keeps swelling. So I will set a quarrel going inside the Yadu family, like fire in a clump of bamboo, and go to my peace, my own abode.
