Questioned in this way by the thoughtful Vasudeva, king, the sage of the gods was pleased, and, brought to remember Hari by the mention of his qualities, he spoke to him. You have settled this rightly, bull of the Satvatas, in asking about the dharma of the Lord's own, which makes the whole world well. Heard, recited after another, meditated on, honoured, or only consented to, the true dharma makes clean at once even those who do harm to the gods and to the world. Today you have brought back to my mind the Bhagavan, the god Narayana, the highest good, whose hearing and whose praising make a man clean. On this they tell an old story as well: the talk between the sons of Rsabha and the great-souled king of Videha.
