The elephant, and the honey-gatherer· Verses 13–16

A begging man should not touch a young woman even with his foot, not even one made of wood. Touching her he would be bound, as the elephant is bound by coming against the body of a cow-elephant. A man of discernment should never go after a woman: she is his own death. He would be killed by others stronger than he is, as one elephant is killed by other elephants. What the greedy have piled up with pain is neither given away nor enjoyed. Someone else enjoys it, every bit of it, as the honey-gatherer who knows where the wealth lies takes the honey. Householders long for the blessings of a home and earn their money in great pain; and it is the wandering ascetic who eats before them, like the honey-gatherer.
