Verse 19

¹⁹Even if they know how happiness is got and how pain is kept off, they still do not truly know the way by which death would have no power. ²⁰What thing that he has gained gives him any pleasure, or what desire, with death standing close? Nothing pleases a condemned man being led to the killing ground. ²¹What is only heard of is spoiled just as what is seen is, by rivalry and envy, by ending and by expense; and with many hindrances in it and much wanting, it bears no fruit, like a crop. ²²If dharma, well carried out, is not undone by hindrances, hear how, even by that, a man goes to the place he has won.
