The god no one rules· Verses 48–50

The other gods have come under the mind's power, and the mind comes under nobody's. It is a fearsome god, stronger than strength. Whoever brings it under his own power is a god among gods. Not having conquered that enemy, hard to conquer, whose rush cannot be borne, who strikes at the vital places, some men here, bewildered, take up a useless quarrel with mortals and make friends, neutrals and enemies of them. Taking this body, which is nothing but mind, for I and mine, men whose understanding is blind wander in a darkness whose far shore is hard to reach, under the error: this one is I, and that one is another.
