6Bhagavan said: There is no end, Uddhava, to the section on works, which has no far shore. I shall set it out in brief, in order, as it is. 7My sacrifice is of three kinds: from the Veda, from the Tantra, and mixed. By whichever of the three he wants, by that rule let him worship me. 8When a man has come to the twice-born state that his own text lays down, hear from me how he is to make offering to me with devotion and with trust. 9In an image, or on bare ground, or in fire, or in the sun, or in water, or in the heart, let the twice-born man, joined with devotion, worship me, his own teacher, with what he has and without pretence.
10First let him bathe, his teeth cleaned, so that his body may be clean; and a bath also with both kinds of mantras, taking up earth and the rest. 11The rites that begin with attending on the joinings of the day are laid down for me by the Veda. With these, his intention rightly formed, let him arrange the worship, which makes works clean.
