29Have you taken in Brahman, Uddhava, my friend? Has your delusion gone, and that sorrow that was born in your mind? 30You are not to give this to a hypocrite, nor to one who denies, nor to a cheat, nor to one who will not listen, nor to one without devotion, nor to the ill-mannered. 31Let him tell it to one free of these faults, kind to brahmins, dear to him, good and clean; and to sudras and women, if devotion is there. 32For one who wants to know, once he has known this, nothing more is left to be known, as when a man has drunk the sweet undying draught, nothing is left to drink. 33Whatever purpose men have, dear one, in knowledge, in work, in yoga, in trade and in the wielding of the rod, that much am I to you, in four kinds.
34When a mortal has given up every work, and has offered himself, and is wanted by me, then, coming to what does not die, he becomes fit to be of one being with me.
