Bhagavan said: Do not be afraid, Jara. Get up. This wish of mine has been carried out. Go, with my leave, to heaven, the place of those who have done well. So directed by the Bhagavan, by Krsna whose body is his own will, he went round him three times, bowed to him, and went to the sky in a heavenly car. Daruka, searching for Krsna's track and coming upon it, smelled the wind that carried the scent of tulasi and went toward it. There he saw his master, ringed about with weapons of sharp light, who had made his place at the root of an asvattha tree. His self melting with affection, he leapt down from the chariot and fell at his feet, his eyes full of tears.

Not seeing your lotus feet, master, my sight is lost and has gone into darkness. I do not know the quarters and I find no peace, as in the night when the moon has been lost. While the driver was speaking so, the chariot marked with Garuda rose into the sky, with its horses and its banner, king of kings, while he looked on.
