Words of splendour, and a question· Verses 14–17

These stories of the great ones who have gone, spreading their renown through the worlds, have been told to you, mighty one, out of a wish to speak of knowledge and detachment. They are words of splendour, not the highest matter. But the telling over of the qualities of him whose renown is highest, sung again and again, which kills what is inauspicious: that alone a man should hear always, and hear again, who wants a devotion to Krsna with no stain in it. By what way, revered one, will people in the Kali age blow out the faults of the Kali that have gathered up? Tell me that, sage, and how it is done. The ages, and the dharma of the ages; the measure of the dissolution and of the aeon; and the going of time, which is the shape of the Lord, of Visnu, great of soul.
