The stream of time· Verses 35–38

Some who know the fine things say that the coming to be and the dissolving of all beings, from Brahma downward, go on always, scorcher of foes. Of a thing carried off always and fast in the swift stream of time, the states that follow one after another, as it changes, are the causes of birth and of dissolving. By this time, which has no beginning and no end and is the shape of the Lord, the states themselves are never seen, as with the lights in the sky. The constant dissolution, and the one that comes of an occasion, and the one that belongs to Nature, and the last one, have all been told. Such is the going of time.
