In plain words
Āṇṭāḷ, to the cuckoo: Cuckoo: I longed to serve the one who measured the worlds that day [of Mahābali], and he has played me false in that service; and now the south wind and the moon pierce me through and torment me, by what law I do not know. Do not you too stay on and on in this grove forever, wearing me down. If you do not call Nārāyaṇa to come today, I will drive you out of here.
