In plain words

The cowherd girls, to their friends of Āyppāṭi: It is the month of Mārkazhi, and a good day with the moon at its full. You who would go to bathe, come now, won't you, girls in fine jewels, little girls of Āyppāṭi, where wealth abounds, rich in the wealth of serving him! The son of Nandagōpa, who holds a sharp spear and is cruel in deed to any who would harm the child, the young lion of Yaśōdā of the lovely eyes, dark in body as the rain-cloud, his eyes red as lotuses, his face like the radiant moon: Nārāyaṇa himself, and no other, will give us the drum [the service we seek], to us alone. So let us plunge in and bathe, and the people of the earth will praise us. Take it up and heed it, girl of ours.
