In plain words

The cowherd girls, to Nappiṉṉai, Kṛṣṇa's bride, that she may intercede for them: O daughter-in-law of Nandagōpāla, who is strong as an elephant driven on by rut, whose strong shoulders never turn to flee the battlefield! O Nappiṉṉai, whose hair breathes fragrance, open the door! The cocks are crowing everywhere, see; on the arbour of the mādhavi creeper the flocks of koels have called again and again, see. O you whose fingers hold the ball [with which you beat him at play], so that we may sing the names of your husband, come, and gladly open the door with your red-lotus hand, your fine bangles ringing. Take it up and heed it, girl of ours.
