In plain words

The poet, telling of Rāma of Tillai Citrakūṭam: He reached Ayōdhyā of lovely, tall, golden, jewelled mansions and took up the kingship; from the mouth of Agastya he heard the long, ancient history of the one he had slain before [Rāvaṇa]; and from the mouths, like clusters of red coral, of the sons [Kuśa and Lava] whom the lady of Mithilā [Sītā] bore in her holy womb that the world might be saved, he heard his own story. We who drink in with our ears and our eyes the story of my Lord in Tiruccitrakūṭam in the town of Tillai do not prize even sweet nectar: is it not so?
