In plain words

The poet, telling of Rāma of Tillai Citrakūṭam: He sought out and killed Śambūka, who practised dense penance; he brought back the life of the learned brahmin's son; he received and wore the precious jewelled ornament that the ascetic [Agastya] gave; he sent Lavaṇa to heaven by his younger brother's [Śatrughna's] hand; and at the sage's [Durvāsa's] demand he parted from Lakṣmaṇa, who shone with might. We who have a heart that never forgets him who dwells in Tiruccitrakūṭam in the town of Tillai will surely meet no great sorrow.
