In plain words

Yaśōdā calls the child for the ear-piercing: "Your father, who cares for us all, has gone out [with the cows] and is late coming back; Kaṃsa, mighty in war, is cruel to you; there is no one here to guard you, you coloured like the sea, and you go off alone and wander everywhere. Mad little one who drank the milk at the breast of the demoness [Pūtanā], Kēśava, master of mischief, the children and women of the herdsfolk have all come to pierce your ears, and I have made ready the betel and areca nut for them."
