In plain words
Yaśōdā calls: "The fine Veda-knowers have come chanting the Ṛk hymns, with holy water in their conches, and stand waiting. Do not stand at the crossroads in your pride, master of mischief; heed your mother's word for a few more days. You who stand at radiant Veḷḷaṟai, I am lighting the evening lamp that shows your form, so that it glows now, to perform the holy rite of protection over you: come!"
