In plain words
A mother says: Will he do as he pleases with my daughter, as the lowly hunters and the Maṟavar clans do, take their coming together as the marriage itself and so live as a household? Or will the Lord who kicked the cart [Śakaṭa] so that it snapped hold a fine wedding without equal, for the unlearned and the learned alike to know, and take her hand as befits his clan, I wonder?
