Bharadvāja
Bharadvāja studied the Veda for three whole lifetimes, and when Indra, king of the gods, offered him a fourth, he asked only to go on studying. Indra showed him three mountains and a handful from each, and told him that the Veda is endless. He was the father of Droṇa and of Yavakrīta, and when Yavakrīta was killed through his own pride, Bharadvāja cursed his oldest friend and gave his body to the fire. At his hermitage where the Gaṅgā meets the Yamunā he sent Rāma, the prince of Ayodhyā, on his way into exile at Citrakūṭa, feasted the whole army of Rāma's brother Bharata by the power of his austerity, and welcomed Rāma home again at the end of his fourteen years in the forest.
