Kaśyapa
Kaśyapa, the son of Marīci, was the husband of many of the daughters of Dakṣa, a son of Brahmā the creator, and from his wives came the gods and the demons, the serpents and the great bird Garuḍa. He gave his wives the sons they asked for, counselled his son Garuḍa on his way to steal the nectar of the gods, granted Diti a son to slay Indra, king of the gods, and taught Aditi the vow by which the Lord Viṣṇu himself was born as her son. And when Paraśurāma had won the whole earth, he gave it to Kaśyapa.
