In plain words
The poet, of the Lord's grace to him: My Lord with the lotus eyes lies alone and reigns upon the cool sea [the broad Kāviri], where the spray of the tossing waves beats on him sweetly. My eyes that have seen Kaṇṇaṉ, whose red mouth is like a ripe fruit, stream with cool drops of tears [and hide him from me], alas! What shall I do, sinner that I am?
