In plain words

The poet, to the people of the world: Laying his crowned head to the west, stretching his feet to the east, showing the north the beauty of his back, and looking with love toward Laṅkā [where Vibhīṣaṇa dwells] in the south, my Lord, God coloured like the ocean, sleeps on the serpent bed. Seeing the way he sleeps, my very body melts, alas! What shall I do, people of the world?
