The works of Ādi Śaṅkarācārya

Advaitānubhūtiḥ

Verse 35

In plain words

One sunlight seems divided when it streams through many openings. In the same way, the one all-pervading Self seems to become many when seen through different bodies.

Close to the Sanskrit

Although sunlight is one, through the openings among the ropes of a cot it appears as many. Likewise, though the all-pervading Self is one, it appears as many in the different fields.
