The works of Ādi Śaṅkarācārya

Advaitānubhūtiḥ

Verse 62

मेघावभासको भानुर्मेघच्छन्नोऽवभासते ।मोहावभासकस्तद्वन्मोहच्छन्नो विभात्ययम् ॥ ६० ॥

In plain words

The sun is what lights the cloud up — and then it shines as though the cloud had covered it. Just so: this one is what lights moha up, and then shines as though moha had covered it.

Close to the Sanskrit

The illuminator of the cloud, the sun, covered by the cloud, shines; likewise the illuminator of delusion, covered by delusion, this one shines forth.
