The works of Ādi Śaṅkarācārya

Advaitānubhūtiḥ

Verse 64

In plain words

The sun lights up everything, and nothing it lights up can stain it. The Self lights up everything — and in the same way, nothing at all can stain it.

Close to the Sanskrit

The sun, the illuminator of all, is not in the least defiled by the things it illumines. The Self, indeed, is the illuminator of all; like that, it is not defiled by all of them.
