The works of Ādi Śaṅkarācārya

Advaitānubhūtiḥ

Verse 65

In plain words

The face in the mirror spreads out as a face — falsely. Just so, the shining that sits inside the intellect spreads out as the ātman — falsely.

Close to the Sanskrit

Just as the face situated in a mirror spreads forth falsely as if it were a face, so the appearer situated in the intellect spreads forth falsely as if it were the Self.
