The works of Ādi Śaṅkarācārya

Aparokṣānubhūtiḥ

Verse 36

In plain words

The Bṛhadāraṇyaka says it too: the Puruṣa is asaṅga — nothing clings to it, it clings to nothing. So how could this body, mixed through and through with endless filth, be the Person?

Close to the Sanskrit

In the Bṛhadāraṇyaka also the Puruṣa is declared to be unattached; how could the body, commingled with endless impurity, be the Person?
