A bewildered man looks at a rope and reaches a verdict: snake. He looks at a shell and reaches a verdict: silver. In exactly the same way he looks at his own selfhood and reaches a verdict: body.
Close to the Sanskrit
Just as the rope is definitively determined as snake-ness by a deluded person, and the mother-of-pearl as silver-ness, so too is Selfhood determined as body-ness.
