The works of Ādi Śaṅkarācārya

Aparokṣānubhūtiḥ

Verse 97

In plain words

Even the body is only prapañca, part of the projected display — so where is prārabdha supposed to stand? Śruti does speak of prārabdha, yes; it speaks that way for the sake of those still held by ignorance.

Close to the Sanskrit

Since even the body is prapañca (mere projected manifoldness), whence the standing of prārabdha? For the sake of instructing ignorant people, śruti indeed speaks of prārabdha.
