Ātmabodhaḥ

Verse 13

पंचीकृतमहाभूतसंभवं कर्मसंचितम् ।शरीरं सुखदुःखानां भोगायतनमुच्यते ॥ १२ ॥

In plain words

The five great elements, each blended with the others, are what this body arose from; past action is what gathered it. It is called the house where pleasure and pain are lived through.

Having its origin in the quintuplicated great elements, accumulated by karma, the body is called the abode of experience for pleasures and pains.
