The works of Ādi Śaṅkarācārya

Ātmabodhaḥ

Verse 67

In plain words

Hearing the teaching, and all that follows from it, kindles a fire of knowledge; heated right through by that fire, the jīva is freed of every impurity and shines by itself — like gold.

Close to the Sanskrit

Thoroughly heated by the fire of knowledge kindled by hearing and the rest, the jīva, freed from all impurity, shines of itself like gold.
