Prose passage

। । २२ ॥

In plain words

It is Ajñāna alone that imagines kartṛtva and the rest of the Manas-upādhi onto the Ātman — the same way water's own trembling gets imagined onto the moon that merely happens to be reflected in it.

Close to the Sanskrit

From Ajñāna, kartṛtva and the rest of the Manas-upādhi are imagined in the Ātman — just as movement and the rest belonging to water are imagined in the moon reflected in it.
