Maitreyī said, 'Right there you lost me. You told me nothing of me survives death.' Yājñavalkya answered gently, 'I'm not speaking in riddles, dear one -- what I've told you is already enough to understand.'

Maitreyī said: 'Right here, venerable sir, you have confused me, [saying] there is no consciousness after death.' He said: 'I am not, verily, dear one, speaking delusion; this, verily, dear one, is enough for understanding.'
