The works of Ādi Śaṅkarācārya

Bṛhadāraṇyakopaniṣadbhāṣyam

Verse 145

यो दिवि तिष्ठन्दिवोऽन्तरो यं द्यौर्न वेद यस्य द्यौः शरीरं यो दिवमन्तरो यमयत्येष त आत्मान्तर्याम्यमृतः ॥ ८ ॥

In plain words

The one who lives inside the sky, yet is nothing the sky can claim as its own, whom the sky itself never knows, whose body the sky is, who governs the sky from within -- that is your self, the ruler seated inside everything, and death does not touch him.

Close to the Sanskrit

He who, dwelling in heaven, is other than heaven, whom heaven does not know, whose body heaven is, who controls heaven from within -- he is your self, the inner controller, immortal.
