The works of Ādi Śaṅkarācārya

Bṛhadāraṇyakopaniṣadbhāṣyam

Verse 20

अथात्मनेऽन्नाद्यमागायद्यद्धि किंचान्न-मद्यतेऽनेनैव तदद्यत इह प्रतितिष्ठति ॥

In plain words

Then, for its own sake, prāṇa chanted for nourishing food. For whatever food is eaten anywhere is consumed by this very breath alone, and through it the prāṇa finds its footing here.

Close to the Sanskrit

Then for the self he chanted for food; for whatever food is eaten, by this very one it is eaten, here he becomes established.
