In plain words
The mind shines like the moon. Just as the vital breath once carried the ancient sacrificer past death through the powers of speech and fire, so too does this very prāṇa deity carry the present sacrificer across death through those same powers. And whoever knows prāṇa, endowed with the fivefold group starting with speech—fulfilling the scriptural truth that whatever one worships, into that one transforms.

The mind shines as the moon. Just as formerly it carried the sacrificer across death through the nature of speech and fire, thus indeed this prāṇa deity carries across this present sacrificer also through the nature of speech and fire; and who knows prāṇa characterized by the five beginning with speech; from the śruti: 'In whatever way they worship that, exactly that he becomes.'
