The works of Ādi Śaṅkarācārya

Bṛhadāraṇyakopaniṣadbhāṣyam

Verse 259

In plain words

'Maitreyi,' Yajnavalkya said, 'I am about to leave this life behind and go forth as a wanderer. So come — let me settle things properly between you and Katyayani before I go.'

Close to the Sanskrit

'Maitreyī!' — thus said Yājñavalkya — 'I am indeed about to go forth from this state. Come, then, let me make a settlement between you and this Kātyāyanī.'
