साम जानीयाद्यो जानीते सोऽमृतत्वंच गच्छति तस्मादिदं साम येन केन-चिदाचार्यमुखेन यो जानीते स तेनैवशरीरेण संसारान्मुच्यते मोचयति मुमु-क्षुर्भवति जपात्तेनैव शरीरेण देवताद-र्शनं करोति तस्मादिदमेव मुख्यं द्वारंकलौ नान्येषां भवति तस्मादिदं साङ्गंसाम जानीयाद्यो जानीते स मुमुक्षुर्भ-वति ॥ ५ ॥
In plain words
Know this chant -- whoever knows it reaches immortality. And here is what follows from that: however this chant comes to you, through whichever teacher's mouth, the moment you know it, this very body you already have is released from the wheel of birth and death -- or becomes the means of releasing someone else. Just by reciting it, in this same body, you come face to face with the deity itself. That is why this chant, and nothing else, is the main door -- especially now, in an age like this one, when other paths simply don't open the way this one does. So know this chant whole, with every limb intact: whoever knows it becomes someone who truly wants to be free. || 5 ||
Close to the Sanskrit
One should know this sāman; he who knows it attains immortality. Therefore, whoever comes to know this sāman through the mouth of any teacher whatsoever, he, by that very body, is released from the round of transmigration -- or he releases [another] -- [and] becomes one desiring liberation. By recitation, by that very body, he brings about the vision of the deity. Therefore this alone is the principal gateway; in the Kali age it does not exist for others. Therefore one should know this sāman together with its limb; he who knows it becomes one desiring liberation. || 5 ||
