Bṛhadāraṇyakopaniṣadbhāṣyam

Verse 73

In plain words

Gārgya said: 'The person who is made of shadow—this very one I worship as Brahman.' Ajātaśatru answered: 'Do not speak to me about him. I worship him precisely as death.' Whoever meditates on him in this way attains his full span of life in this world, and untimely death never overtakes him.

Close to the Sanskrit

He spoke: 'The person who is this shadow-made, this very one I worship as Brahman.' Ajātaśatru spoke to him: 'Do not converse with me about this. As death indeed I worship this.' Whoever worships this thus, reaches the full lifespan in this world indeed; premature death does not come to him.
