Bhashya
सत्यकाम इति नामतः जबालाया अपत्यं जाबालः ।चन्द्रमा मनसि देवता ।आनन्द इत्युपनिषत्; यस्मान्मनएव आनन्दः, तस्मात् मनसा वै, सम्राट्, स्त्रियमभिकामय-मानः अभिहार्यते प्रार्थयत इत्यर्थः ; तस्मात् यां स्त्रियमभिका-मयमानोऽभिहार्यते, तस्यां प्रतिरूपः अनुरूपः पुत्रो जायते ; सआनन्दहेतुः पुत्रः ; स येन मनसा निर्वर्त्यते, तन्मनः आनन्दः ॥
In plain words
His name was Satyakāma -- son of Jabālā, so he is called Jābāla. In the mind, the presiding power is the moon. This meditation goes by a secret name too: bliss -- because mind itself, nothing besides it, is bliss. That is why, your majesty, it is the mind that draws a man toward a woman he desires and moves him to court her -- that is simply what the words mean. And in the very woman he desires and courts, a son is born who takes after him, matching him in form. That son is what bliss looks like. And the mind that brought him about -- that mind is bliss itself.
Close to the Sanskrit
Satyakāma by name -- he is the son of Jabālā, [called] Jābāla. The moon is the deity in the mind. "Bliss" is the esoteric name [for this meditation], since mind alone is bliss. Therefore, O emperor, it is by the mind indeed that one desiring a woman is drawn toward her -- that is, solicits her; that is the meaning. Therefore, in the woman whom, desiring her, he woos, a son of matching, corresponding form is born to her; that son is the cause of bliss; and that by which mind he is brought about -- that mind is bliss.
