Chāndogyopaniṣadbhāṣyam

Verse 252

स जातो यावदायुषं जीवति तं प्रेतंदिष्टमितोऽग्नय एव हरन्ति यत एवेतोयतः संभूतो भवति ॥ २ ॥

In plain words

That person, having been born, lives out his span of life. When he passes away and is directed from this world, the fires alone carry him back to that very source from which he originally came into being.

Close to the Sanskrit

That person, born, lives as long as his lifetime; him, departed, destined from here, the fires indeed carry away, whence indeed from here, from whence he is produced becomes.
