Chāndogyopaniṣadbhāṣyam

Verse 321

अथ यदि तस्याकर्ता भवति तत एव सत्यमात्मानं कुरुते स सत्याभिसंधः सत्येनात्मानमन्तर्धाय परशुं तप्तं प्रतिगृह्णाति स न दह्यतेऽथ मुच्यते ॥ २ ॥

In plain words

But if he is innocent, he aligns himself with what is true. Clinging to the truth, shielded by that very truth, he grasps the red-hot axe. He is not burned, and he is set free.

Close to the Sanskrit

Now, if he is a non-doer of that, therefore indeed he makes himself truth. He, clinging to truth, having concealed himself by truth, grasps the heated axe; he is not burned, then he is released.
