तानि ह वा एतानि चित्तैकायनानिचित्तात्मानि चित्ते प्रतिष्ठितानि तस्मा-द्यद्यपि बहुविदचित्तो भवति नायमस्ती-त्येवैनमाहुर्यदयं वेद यद्वा अयं विद्वान्ने-त्थमचित्तः स्यादित्यथ यद्यल्पविच्चित्तवा-न्भवति तस्मा एवोत शुश्रूषन्ते चित्तँह्येवैषामेकायनं चित्तमात्मा चित्तं प्रति-ष्ठा चित्तमुपास्स्वेति ॥ २ ॥
In plain words
All these faculties find their sole destination in the mind; the mind is their very self, and in the mind they rest. Therefore, even if a person possesses vast scholarship, if he lacks mental poise, people say of him, 'He is not truly present, for what does he really know?' Or they say, 'Such a learned man is surely unintegrated.' But if another person knows very little yet is centered in his mind, people eagerly desire to listen to him. For the mind is the one destination of all these faculties; the mind is their self, the mind is their foundation. Meditate upon the mind.

These indeed are having mind as their sole destination, having mind as their self, established in mind. Therefore, even if a person is a great knower yet lacks mind, they say about him 'he is not this one, what he knows', or 'this learned one is not thus mindless.' But if he is modest in knowledge yet possesses mind, from him indeed people desire to listen. Mind is indeed the sole destination of these, mind is the self, mind is the foundation.
