In plain words
What is achieved here through mere mental imagining? Fire was recognized only through distinguishing its red and other forms—just as cloth disappears when the threads are pulled apart. Not so. Fire is nothing more than a word and a concept; for scripture declares: 'A modification has its origin in speech, being merely a name.' Therefore, the very idea of fire is illusory. What then is truly real? Only the three elemental forms are real; nothing whatsoever exists apart from them. This is the final conclusion.

What is accomplished here by the imagination of word and intellect? Since fire was merely because of the discrimination of red and other forms, just as the absence of cloth when threads are removed—it is not so. Fire is merely a mental word; because scripture says, 'Modification is speech-origin, a name, a mere name.' Therefore the concept of fire is also false. What then is true there? Only the three forms are true; not even an atom of reality exists apart from the three forms, this is the purport of the restriction.
