In plain words
The true ativādin is the one I shall now describe. A knower of prāṇa is not an absolute ativādin; his transcendence is only relative to lower categories like name. But he who knows the Infinite, the reality that transcends all and is the absolute truth—he is the true ativādin. Thus spoke the teacher, meaning that he who speaks through the direct realization of absolute truth is the true speaker. Approaching you, venerable sir, I wish to speak through the Truth; please engage me so that I may do so—this is the intent. Hearing this, Sanatkumāra replies: 'If you wish to speak through the Truth, then Truth alone must first be investigated.' Told thus, Nārada responds: 'So be it, venerable sir. I desire to inquire into Truth and come to know it thoroughly from you.'

He indeed speaks beyond, whom I will speak of. The knower of prāṇa is not an ativādin in the absolute sense; his status as an ativādin is relative to name and other things. But he who knows the reality named Bhūman, transcending all, the absolute truth, is an ativādin—thus he said. 'He indeed speaks beyond who speaks by the Truth with the possession of knowledge of the absolute truth. I have approached Thee, O Venerable One; may I speak beyond by the Truth; may the Venerable One engage me so that I may speak beyond by the Truth'—this is the intent. Nārada said: 'If you wish to speak beyond by the Truth thus, Truth alone must first be inquired into.' Having been told thus, Nārada says: 'So be it then, O Venerable One, I desire to inquire into Truth, I wish to know it specifically from you.'
