In plain words
Terror to every enemy who will not bend, and radiant as the sun just clear of the horizon. Demons and gods alike bow low before him, and the worst disasters he lifts clean off the backs of those who bow. Lord of the gods, lord of every treasure, lord of elephants, lord of the gaṇas, great Lord, higher than the highest, with no break in him anywhere — he is the one I take refuge in.
Close to the Sanskrit
Him who is terrifying to the enemies other than those who bow, radiant like the newly risen sun; him before whom the enemies of the gods and the gods themselves bow, who lifts away the extreme calamities of those who bow; the Lord of the gods, the Lord of treasures, the Lord of elephants, the Lord of the gaṇas, the Great Lord, higher than the highest, unbroken — him I take refuge in.
