Down from the king of mountains she comes. Whoever sinks into her water, she carries across. She goes out playing into the ocean, and she drives off the whole ranked line of the fears that birth and death bring. She winds along like Śeṣa the serpent; on Śiva's head she lies like one leaf on a creeper. She lingers at the edge of Kāśī. Gaṅgā, who takes the mind away with her, is victorious.
