Govindāṣṭakam

Verse 3

In plain words

He cut down the warrior-enemies of the gods, lifted the burden off the earth, and cured the disease that is being born again. He is kaivalya — aloneness itself. He eats fresh butter; he eats nothing; he eats the worlds. In a mind gone clear with purity he shines out as that one distinct thought — and he is no appearance at all. Auspicious, unmixed stillness: bow to Govinda, who is the highest bliss.

Close to the Sanskrit

Slayer of the heroic foes of heaven's dwellers, destroyer of the earth's burden, destroyer of the disease of becoming; kaivalya itself; whose food is fresh butter, who has no food, whose food is the worlds; who shines forth as the particular mind-mode made lucid by purity, who is no appearance at all; the auspicious one, unmixed stillness — bow to Govinda, supreme bliss.
