In plain words
He is an ocean of compassion with no shore on this side; beautiful as a bank of rain-heavy clouds. Lakṣmī, Sarasvatī, the Moon, and Brahmā risen from that shining spotless lotus — with these at their head the lords of the gods worship him, and the Vedas sing his life at their very summit. May Lord Jagannātha, the Master, come into the path of my eyes.
Close to the Sanskrit
An ocean of compassion; lovely as a row of water-laden clouds; worshipped by the lords of the gods, headed by Ramā, Vāṇī, Soma, and the Lotus-born Brahmā of the shining spotless lotus; whose deeds are sung at the crest of the body of Vedas — may Lord Jagannātha, the Master, come into the path of my eyes.
